Faced any fears lately?
April 28, 2008

One day, she decides to face her fear and see what happens if she leaves the safety of her house and goes out into the real world. She asks someone she knew to drag her out of the house if need be since she herself will not be able to do it. Maybe this is extreme. And maybe this is possible only in television shows and not for real for agoraphobic people. But it surely got me thinking… Read More

Thanks for sharing this. I totally agree with you – facing fear is absolutely vital for growth. Any change will engender feelings of fear – it’s normal – but to let fear get in the way of our own growth is crazy.
The times I have grown the most have been times when I have pushed through my fears.

There’s a good book that changed my life called _Feeling Good_ by David Burns that talks about fear. He says that facing your fears head on is a good way to make them go away, rather than putting it off, and then having them magnify.
This was a very interesting post. Thanks for sharing.

@Andrew : I read about the same concept – of facing fears being the only way to get rid of them in ‘Monk Who Sold His Ferrari’ by Robin Sharma. I will definately get the ‘Feeling Good’ book and read it.
